I am a fully qualified UKCP registered Psychotherapist (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) with over 16 years of extensive clinical experience treating a wide variety of different conditions and disorders. Along side running a busy private practice, I am a Director and Trustee for a local charity based in Birmingham that offers psychological services and complementary therapy for people with life threatening and life limiting illness.
My practice is based in Tamworth and is a short bus ride from the town centre. It is also within easy reach of Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Cannock, Brownhills, Burton, Nuneaton and North Birmingham. Central Birmingham is about a 35 minute journey.
Professional Qualifications and Training
All UKCP-registered Psychotherapists are trained to a Masters Degree or an equivalent level whether they attended university or trained at specialist private colleges and abide by their rigours code of ethics. I trained with the National School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and the Marlin Institute of Neuro-linguistic Psychotherapy achieving Advanced Post Graduate diplomas. In addition, I am a fully licensed Reverse Therapist. I hold other specialised qualifications in Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Timeline Therapy.
In addition to running a busy private psychotherapy practice for the last 14 years, I am a Director for Freshwinds, a Charitable Trust in Birmingham. Prior to this, I worked as one of their principle Psychotherapist and Complementary Therapist in the department of clinical services offering psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and other therapeutic approaches for patients diagnosed with life threatening/limiting illness, as well as assisting people with conflicting issues about their sexual orientation and gender.
As well as being registered with the UKCP, I am also a full member of the Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association, a full member of the Clinical Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists (MCRAH) and a full member of the British Holistic Medical Association (MBHMA).
